Alan Reid, Liberal Democrat MP for Argyll & Bute, condemned the SNP Government for taking an £8 million contract away from Royal Mail and giving it to a private company.
 

Argyll & Bute MP Alan Reid congratulated Garelochhead and Clyde Conservation Group for winning the prestigious Silver Otter award for conservation at the Sanctuary Awards ceremony at Trinity House in London on Tuesday 13 October 2009.

Mr Reid was present at the awards ceremony to congratulate Group members John Simpson, Jim McCulloch and Ian Robertson.

Commenting on the announcement by the European Commission of its proposals for total allowable catches for 2010, which show severe cuts for the West of Scotland fishing fleet, Alan Reid, Liberal Democrat MP for Argyll & Bute said,
