Argyll & Bute Scottish Liberal Democrats

I would like to thank everyone who voted for me at the General Election. I consider myself privileged to have been elected to represent Argyll & Bute in the House of Commons for a third term. Difficult decisions will have to be taken in the days that lie ahead and I will continue put the interests of Argyll & Bute first.

Commenting on the news that Highland Airways has gone into administration, Liberal Democrat MP for Argyll and Bute and Shadow Minister for Northern Ireland and Scotland, Alan Reid said:

“I am extremely disappointed that Highland Airways have called in the administrators.

“The Scottish Government must step in urgently and maintain the airlink to Tiree, Coll and Colonsay.

Alan Reid, Liberal Democrat MP for Argyll & Bute, criticised the Chancellor for increasing fuel duty by 3p a litre in today's Budget.

Speaking after the Scottish Government decided to increase CalMac ferry fares by more than the rate of inflation, Alan Reid, Liberal Democrat MP for Argyll & Bute, said,

Alan Reid, Liberal Democrat MP for Argyll & Bute, was highly critical of the Scottish Government after he received a letter from Transport Minister Stewart Stevenson, saying the Scottish Government would not carry out the work required to enable the new Islay ferry to use Port Ellen when it comes into service next year.
